For these instructions, we are working with the Romanian crochet designer Andrea Crețu.
The example is worked with a 4-ply bobbel with a running length of 1,000 m. It has a wingspan of approx. 1.40 m and a circumference of over 2 meters.
Required knowledge:
- Chain stitches (ch)
- Double crochet (dc)
- Standing double crochet (stdc) – explained in the instructions. The instructions also include a link to a video [in English]
- Skip stitches (sk)
- Slip stitches (sl st)
- 2 double crochet together (2dctog)
- 3 double crochet together (3dctog)
- 5 double crochet together (5dctog)
- Magic ring (MR)
- Yarn over (yo)
Materials needed:
- SparWolle Bobbel 4-ply, 1,000 running length (50% cotton/50% polyacrylic)
- Crochet hook 3.0 or 4.00 mm (depending on gauge)
- Sewing needle to weave in ends
- Scissors to cut ends
- Optional: Stitch markers
The instructions are written out and include a complete crochet chart, in which the repeat is fully drawn.
