Felt wool Spectra is an advanced version of our proven felt wool. Felt wool with a rainbow-like, long repeat. ATTENTION! Different felting degree than with plain felt wool, colored felt wool and Funky felt wool. Width: approx. 40 – 45 %, Height: approx. 50 – 55 %
Description
- high heat retention due to natural crimp, which is partially retained in the yarn
- can be used for felting, as well as for classic knitting into pure, warm wool items. However, the finished knitted items should then only be washed on the wool cycle of the washing machine or by hand
- unlike, for example, Hot Socks sock wool, felt wool is not superwash treated, as the felting effect is expressly desired here
- fast knitting results with large needles
- wool glides very easily over the needle
- simply knitted models become special felted unique pieces
- felting is easily done in the washing machine
- smaller knitting errors or uneven knitting disappear after the felting process
- this creates unique pieces, e.g., for decoration, for cozy warm feet or special small gifts
Use – Knitting ideas
- slippers and house shoes
- bags
- baskets in various sizes and shapes
- hats
- placemats, egg warmers, napkin rings
- seat cushions
Shrinkage
- felt wool knitted items shrink less in width than in height when felted in the washing machine
- shrinkage of felt wool Spectra: approx. 40 - 45 % in width, approx. 50 - 55 % in height
- the felting result will be most accurate if a sample is made beforehand, i.e., knit a piece approx. 25 cm x 25 cm, felt it in the washing machine, and then calculate the shrinkage rate and transfer it to your desired knitted item
- the degree of shrinkage can vary depending on the washing machine model or knitting style, whether the knitter works more loosely or more tightly
- however, the gauge indicated on the banderole should correspond, as a too tightly knitted piece will not felt properly, and the stitch pattern will still be visible even after felting.
