Brand Gründl

Perfectly suited for machine felting, but also for classic knitting, as long as the knitted items are only washed on a wool program or by hand afterwards. Good news for all perfectionists: smaller knitting mistakes or uneven knitted sections simply disappear during the felting process. Look forward to a knitting yarn that is very easy to knit with and creates a quick knitting result with large needles. And thanks to the natural crimp that is partially retained in the yarn, it keeps you particularly warm! Have you already chosen your favorite shade?

Shrinkage

  • Felt wool knitted items shrink less in width than in height when felted in the washing machine
  • Shrinkage in width approx. 30%, in height approx. 40%
  • the felting result will be most accurate if a sample is made beforehand, i.e., knit a piece approx. 25 cm x 25 cm, felt it in the washing machine, then calculate the shrinkage rate and transfer it to your desired knitted item
  • the degree of shrinkage can vary depending on the washing machine model or even the knitting style, whether the knitter works looser or tighter
  • however, the stitch gauge indicated on the ball band should correspond, as a too tightly knitted item will not felt properly, and the stitch pattern will still be visible after felting.
